House Rules

Welcome to Pension Bakema on Ameland.

To ensure a pleasant stay for you and other guests, the following house rules apply at Pension Bakema.

GENERAL

Respect for neighbors and other guests
Pension Bakema is located near several residential homes. Pension Bakema kindly requests its guests not to cause any disturbance. We also ask you to be considerate of other guests in the rooms.

Noise
Pension Bakema asks its guests to refrain from making loud noises in their rented accommodation and common areas. All music – and any other sound – must be kept at room volume to avoid disturbing other guests and residents, and is strictly prohibited from “10:00 PM until” 7:00 AM. We particularly request guests not to play loud music and to be mindful of slamming doors.

Smoking
Smoking is not allowed in the rooms or other indoor areas. This includes smoking from windows. The smell is immediately detectable. If discovered, we will ask you to leave the room immediately. Additionally, cleaning charges of €250 will be applied, even after check-out.

You may smoke on the terrace by arrangement, provided it doesn’t disturb others and safety isn’t compromised. When smoking outside, the doors and windows of the accommodation must remain closed. The terrace must remain free of cigarette butts. Cigarettes must be disposed of in the designated cigarette receptacle.

Candles
Lighting candles is not permitted due to fire safety regulations.

Maximum room occupancy
Pension Bakema has 7 double rooms. The rooms are suitable for a maximum occupancy of 2 people. It is therefore not permitted to have more than two people staying in the room, residing there, or having breakfast. This number applies regardless of the age of those staying in the room. If the maximum occupancy of 2 people is exceeded, Pension Bakema will ask you to leave the room.

Visitors
It is not permitted to receive unregistered visitors or other hotel guests in your room. If other guests are found in the room, you will be asked to leave immediately.

Damage
Pension Bakema is not liable for any form of damage, loss, or theft that you experience during your stay at Pension Bakema.
If any damage occurs to the accommodation or its furnishings during your stay, you must inform the host/hostess. Pension Bakema will charge the customer for any resulting cleaning costs and/or replacement costs of materials.

Check-in
Check-in is generally possible from 1:00 PM. Earlier check-in is possible if available. The reception is open until 6:00 PM. If you plan to arrive later, please let us know in advance.

Please inform us one day before arrival about your expected arrival time. This ensures someone will be present and you won’t have to wait unnecessarily. You can also arrive earlier to drop off your luggage and collect the key.

Check-out
Check-out is possible between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM on the day of departure. If desired, you can leave your luggage at reception for the entire day.

Payment
Payment must be made at check-in and can only be made by debit card or cash. Please note: we do not accept €200 and €500 bills. Credit card payment is not possible.

Key management
Upon arrival, you will receive one key for your accommodation. You are responsible for locking the doors of your accommodation and turning off the lights. Please return the key to the hostess when checking out.

Lost key
Pension Bakema charges €50.00 for a lost key.

Breakfast
We serve a breakfast buffet in our breakfast room from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. During the Corona period, this may be adjusted according to government regulations, such as a breakfast basket in the room or take-away breakfast.

Bed linen and towels
For longer stays, towels and bed linen will be changed as desired.

Hygiene standards
It is not permitted to sleep in the beds without sheets and pillowcases.
If permanent stains occur on the mattress, duvet, bedspread, decorative pillows, or towels during the stay, Pension Bakema will charge the customer for the resulting cleaning costs and/or replacement costs of materials.

Prices
Prices include gas, water, electricity, bed, bath and kitchen linens. The use of coffee and tea for breakfast. Free use of TV, WiFi and free parking on Pension Bakema’s premises.

In the unfortunate event that services such as TV and/or WiFi do not function or do not function properly during the stay at Pension Bakema, this does not entitle the customer to a refund of all or part of the room rate.

Parking
You can park your car behind the dune on Klaas Goumaweg. If the parking lot is full, the host/hostess will direct you to another parking spot. “Please do not park cars in front of the pension or on the private driveway. This is intended for loading and unloading luggage and for taxi” s.
Parking is only permitted for the duration of your stay at Pension Bakema. Parking on Pension Bakema’s premises is at your own risk. Pension Bakema is not liable for theft and/or any form of damage.

Pets
Pets are not allowed.

Alcohol and (soft) drugs
Alcohol abuse is prohibited, so enjoy but drink in moderation. It is forbidden to possess, use and/or trade drugs at Pension Bakema. In such cases, we will ask you to leave the premises.

Internet
Pension Bakema provides a WiFi guest network. Users must refrain from visiting websites that are illegal or incompatible with Pension Bakema’s reputation as an accommodation provider. If interference with third parties and/or (other) internet abuse by the user is detected or suspected, Pension Bakema has the right to block access to the internet, either partially or completely, without prior notice.
