Welcome to Pension Bakema! 

We are very lucky to be able to live and work on Ameland, a beautiful piece of Unesco World Heritage. Since 2010 we have taken over Pension Bakema from Will and Martijntje Bakema, Boudewijn's parents. The furnishing, interior and rooms have been renewed, but you can still experience the real Amelander atmosphere and hospitality. We are happy to welcome you personally and love to tell you everything about our beautiful island.

Our guest house is located on the quiet forest side of the little town called Nes, where peace, space and Amelander hospitality come together.

Quietly located and yet a 2-minute walk from the pleasant center of Nes where you can enjoy many restaurants, terraces and shops. From the ferry you can reach us by bike in 10 minutes and by foot in less than half an hour. Or take the bus or taxi which will stand ready by arriving on the island.

We have 7 double rooms, of which 3 Standard rooms, 2 Comfort rooms and 2 Suites. The small scale of our guest house and the peace and quiet that we want to offer our guests means that it is not possible to place or bring extra beds or baby cots. Our rooms are only suitable for 2 people.

In the morning you can enjoy a delicious, fresh Ameland breakfast in our breakfast room with good bean coffee, orange juice, butter croissants, Ameland bread, homemade jam, yoghurt with fresh fruit, Ameland cheese, homemade cakes and many more.

Around our guest house you can enjoy the summer on the terrace, in the lounge set or in the lounge chairs on top of our dune.

We believe that personal attention and hospitality contribute to the real Ameland experience. We are happy to tell you about the island and point out the nicest, unique places for walking and cycling, far away from the crowds. Restaurants that we recommend are from Amelander families and often not known to the general public.
